While waiting for the stage crew to set up, Lori Freedman, above left, played a few notes for little Maki Burgess at the jazz tent on Saturday as part of the 13th annual Guelph Jazz Festival. He was there to help dad David Burgess, above right, MC at the event. Freedman, a bass clarinet player from Montreal, was getting ready to perform with the Guelph Youth Jazz Ensemble as their special guest.
